I’ve been a producing and exhibiting artist for many years, holding a BA and MFA. I was a full time art faculty member at a college. I loved teaching and have taken great pleasure in seeing my students’ success.
I have maintained my own studio practice since 1984. I’ve also held residencies on four continents and cherished the time spent and friends made. My work has evolved continuously over time; that’s what keeps me going, keeps me excited, and keeps me happy.

At times I work with realism, other times there are no recognizable objects, people, or places at all.
Thirteen years ago, I bought my first iPad and soon after, I was deep into what I could make digitally. Sometimes the subject drives my work sometimes it’s the tools and materials.

I’ve traveled widely and lived in cultures very different than my own, soaking up imagery and ideas with every new experience.
While I love Matisse and Marcel Duchamp, I’m intrigued by Julie Mehretu‘s nonobjective paintings and the rich installations by El Anatsui.
